This outdoor navigation application offers user-friendly operation and provides access to comprehensive mapping resources for Mexico, including free high-quality maps and aerial imagery. Its selection of over twenty map layers—such as topographical maps, aerial views, and road maps—facilitates detailed trip planning and transforms Android devices into reliable offline GPS tools for backcountry exploration.

The app supports easy integration of additional maps from diverse sources, including GeoPDF, GeoTiff, online map services like WMS, and others. Users can customize their map experience with various basemap layers for Mexico, encompassing INEGI topographical maps at scales from 1:20,000 to 1:250,000—covering over 7,000 maps—as well as digital road and topographical maps. Also included are USA topographical maps with seamless coverage at multiple scales, and topographic maps of Central America.

Globally, the app provides several basemap options such as OpenStreetMap with multiple layout styles—downloadable in space-efficient vector formats—along with satellite and terrain views from Google Maps, Bing Maps, and ESRI. Additional layers like Earth at Night and Waze can be overlaid with adjustable transparency to enable comparative analysis of different map data.

Users can incorporate external maps by importing raster files in formats like GeoPDF, GeoTiff, MBTiles, or OziExplorer files (OZF2 & OZF3). Web mapping services (WMS/WMTS) and vector-based OpenStreetMap data of regions—including complete Mexico—are also accessible. Overlays specific to Mexico enrich any base map with features such as roads, railroads, hydrographic data, airports, geographical names, volcanoes, and boundaries; international overlays include hillshading, contour lines at 20-meter intervals, and OpenSeaMap.

Recognizing the limitations of any single map source, the application encourages toggling between different layers or utilizing the map comparison feature to identify optimal routes. The detailed topographical maps at 20k and 50k scales include numerous small paths and features absent from modern digital maps.

Key functionalities supporting outdoor navigation include offline map data storage, path and area measurement tools, waypoint creation/editing, point-to-point route navigation, route planning, track recording with altitude and speed profiles, trip statistics (odometer, average speed, bearing), GPX/KML/KMZ import/export capabilities, search for places or POIs, elevation/distance queries, customizable data fields in both map view and trip logs, and sharing options via email or messaging platforms. The app also supports multiple coordinate systems—WGS84, UTM, MGRS/USNG—and What3Words.

Additional features include track playback for review purposes. The application is suitable for various outdoor pursuits such as hiking, biking, camping, climbing, riding, skiing, canoeing, hunting, snowmobiling tours, off-road expeditions in 4WD vehicles, and search-and-rescue operations.

Users can add custom waypoints with coordinates in longitude/latitude (WGS84), UTM or MGRS/USNG formats. Importing and exporting GPS data—waypoints, tracks, routes—in GPX or Google Earth KML/KMZ formats is supported.
